Making entry for data into Wikibase easy, yet comprehensive, through custom forms, including support for qualifiers and direct integration of Wikidata entries Data models can be complex, containing many classes and properties that are interconnected – it’s easy to lose track of everything. Especially if you haven’t entered new data in a data management system like Wikibase for a while, you may find yourself having to review the data model documentation before you can even get started.
After all, when you want to create a new entity for a specific class, the default Wikibase pages don’t tell you:
- What information that would typically be expected for this type of entity is missing?
- Which property should be used for the respective piece of information (e.g., “Country” vs. “Country of Origin”)?
It was precisely for this purpose that we wanted to develop a form within a Wikibase4Research instance which takes the data model and creates a specific form for each entity within the model.
